Yarmouth – Amelia Crolius, age 105, passed away peacefully on January 6, 2026, at Heron House in Cumberland.

Born on April 4, 1920, in Pennsylvania, Amelia lived a long and vibrant life marked by creativity, curiosity, and a deep love of learning. She later made her home in New York City, where she studied at the Traphagen School of Design and also served as a Librarian at the Oceanic Library in Rumson, New Jersey. Her appreciation for art and culture continued throughout her life, including her time as a docent at the Monmouth Museum in Red Bank, New Jersey. Her last place of work was as a Unit Secretary at Brighton Osteopathic Hospital, a role she carried out with dedication and care. She was an active and valued member of the Yarmouth Garden Club, and the Yarmouth Fortnightly Club.

Amelia was married to the love of her life, John Alexander Crolius, with whom she shared many happy years of traveling before his passing.

She was also predeceased by her son, James W. Crolius III, and by her parents, Amalia Reuter and Edgar Carl Reuter. She is survived by her daughters, Ann Parker and her husband Timothy of Yarmouth, and Suzanne Crolius of Cumberland Foreside; her grandchildren, James W. Crolius, IV and Emily Parker and her fiancé Matthew Rutherford.

Amelia will be remembered for her intellect, grace, and the remarkable span of history she witnessed across more than a century of life.
