Paul B. Maberry

October 19, 1958 ~ December 7, 2025

Paul Maberry, 67, of Sanford, passed away on Sunday, December 7, 2025, in Sanford, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, generosity, and an unforgettable spirit.

Paul was born in Saco on October 19, 1958, and grew up in Bar Mills. From an early age, his free-spirited nature was evident—he embraced life as it came, moving through the world with an open heart, a curious mind, and a love for simple joys.

Throughout his life he lived in various places across Maine, finally making the Sanford area his longtime home beginning in the 1980s. Above all, Paul loved his son deeply and spoke of him often. His pride in his family was clear to everyone who knew him. He also cherished the outdoors, finding peace and joy in nature. Whether he was sitting with a hot cup of coffee, going for a quiet ride in his van, or picking up a handful of scratch tickets in hopes of hitting it big, Paul found happiness in life’s small pleasures and never stopped dreaming.

Paul had a generous heart. He never had much in the material sense, but what he did have, he shared freely. If someone needed a ride, a hand, a laugh, or simply a listening ear, Paul was always there. He had a gift for connecting with people—friendly, outgoing, and known by nearly everyone he encountered. His sense of humor brought smiles to countless faces, and his easygoing spirit made him a comforting presence in the lives of many. He will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to know him.

Paul was predeceased by his parents, Ernest Maberry and Marilan Van Tassell, and six siblings: Butch Stone, Tina Ramos, Larry Stone, Gary Stone, Steve Stone, and David Stone.

He is survived by his son, Corey Maberry, and Corey’s partner Victoria of Casco; his beloved granddaughter, Mckenna Maberry, and his soon-to-arrive grandson, Ezra; five siblings: Karen Chagnon and her husband Wayne of Kezar Falls, Eleanor Bedard of Springvale, Earl Maberry and his wife Michelle of Springvale, Scott Maberry and his fiancée Laurie of Blaine, and Lisa Stone and her partner Joe of Springvale; as well as two sisters-in-law, Diane Stone and Joanne Stone, numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

Per his wishes, Paul’s arrangements will be private.

Arrangements are under the direction of Black-Heald & Walker Funeral Home, Sanford-Springvale.
