It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Tracey Hilliard (Mefford), who passed away peacefully in Maine, October 6, 2025 at the age of 53.
Born in Laconia, NH, on December 14, 1971, Tracey was the daughter of Beverly and the late Elwood Mefford. She grew up in Laconia and attended Laconia High School. For many years, Tracey worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CAN) at the Belknap County Nursing Home, where she was known for her dedication and compassionate care for residents.
Tracey’s greatest love was her fiancé and life partner, Danny, who she had missed dearly since his passing. He was a strong-willed man who loved wholeheartedly and was greatly loved in return.
In her later years, Tracey found joy in the simple pleasures of life, embracing a quiet strength that inspired all who knew her. She was a constant source of love and comfort to her family and found special happiness in spending time with her grandchildren.
Tracey is survived by her mother, Beverly Mefford of Laconia; her sister Dee, in whose care she passed away in Maine; and her two sons, Johnathan Richardson and Bryan Richardson, both of Laconia. She also leaves behind several grandchildren and may others who loved her, and whom she loved in return. She was predeceased by her father, Elwood Mefford, and her grandparents, Barney and Cecile Flynn of Gilford, NH.
There will be no calling hours.
Tracey will be remembered for her warmth, generosity, and the loving spirit she brought to all who knew her. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
