It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Dennis G. Sillon on September 22, 2025, at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough.
Born on August 27, 1948, in Rochester, NH, Dennis was the son of Harland and Velna (Guy) Sillon. He graduated from Berwick High School in 1966, where he was active in many school activities. He went on to earn his degree in Education from the University of Maine at Portland-Gorham.
Dennis dedicated his career to teaching Industrial Arts at Noble Junior High in Berwick, where he inspired many students until his retirement in 2007. After retiring, he continued to share his talents as a contractor, becoming well known for remodeling and updating seasonal homes-a craft that kept him busy.
Dennis loved the outdoors. He enjoyed water skiing, motorcycles, and hunting in his younger years. Later in life, he found joy in snowmobiling and ATV riding. He was an active member of both snowmobile and ATV clubs contributing his time to trail work and fundraising events. A skilled woodworker, Dennis took great pride in his shop, North 45 Woodworking, where he crafted countless projects for his family. Each Christmas, his grandchildren anticipated the creation “Grampy” had made for them that year.
Dennis is survived by his wife, Denise; his sons (of whom he was fiercely proud) Michael (wife Michelle) and Brian (partner Heather Hill); their mother, Carol; and grandchildren Allison Regis (husband Ryan), Kyle Sillon (wife Emma), and Erika Sillon (fiancé Daniel); as well as great grandchildren Layla Sillon and Bohden Regis.
He is also survived by his “bonus daughter” Kristi Cochin, and was “Pepere” to Lily, Ivy, Cal, and Daisy Peters; his sister-in-law, Rachel Carpentier, who always made sure he had extra whipped cream on his desserts, brother-in-law, Robert Hackerott and nieces Jessica Nichols and Christine Hull.
Dennis was predeceased by his parents and his sister, Donna Hackerott.
A private celebration of life will take place at a later date.

The Craftsman’s Gift
With steady hands and patient art,
He shaped the wood, he shaped the heart.
Each measured cut, each polished grain,
Held love and wisdom, not in vain.
For every joint and every seam,
Was built on hope, was built on dream.
And those he taught will carry still,
The craft, the care, the maker’s will.
The workbench stands, the tools remain,
A legacy of more than a name.
In every piece, his spirit lives,
A gift of craft that always gives.

Mike, Brian and families,
We are very sorry to hear of our favorite former next door neighbor.
Please accept our condolences.
I can picture Denny having a Bud with Johnny Jones in heaven!
Mr. Sillon, as so many students knew him by, was an inspiration to the teaching world. Dennis was one of my favorite and memorable teachers. The reason was simple: he was just a real guy to love to teach kids. Although I don’t see him as often as I’d like to in our older years, when I did see him- I let him know and thanked him for what he did and who he was. Rest well
Hoping to see you again one day- somewhere
Remember Dennis very well did some work for us at our home. So sorry Michael and Brian
