Brian J. Giglio

July 10, 1975 ~ August 21, 2025

Born in: Portland, ME
Resided in: Marlborough, MA

On Thursday, August 21st, 2025, a bright light stopped shining in this world. It is with broken hearts and great sorrow that we share our son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend, Brian J. Giglio, left this world and transitioned to the other side, where only love and light exist and where we will join him again one day. Brian’s passing, at his home in Marlborough, MA, was sudden and unexpected and we mourn, not only for his shortened life, but the lost opportunity to say our good-byes, share warm embraces, or kiss his smiling face one more time.

Brian was born in Portland, Maine on July 10, 1975. He leaves behind his mother Karen Caswell (Hoffses) and stepfather Christopher J. Caswell of Scarborough, Maine; his father Lynn Giglio and stepmother Karla Giglio (Smiley) of Saco, Maine; his brother Jason L. Giglio of Marlborough, MA; step-brother, Michael Caswell; his nephew Foster I. Giglio of Bedford, NH; his beloved golden retriever, Molly; uncles, aunts, cousins, and a huge number of friends and coworkers whose lives he positively touched during his time here with us.

Brian graduated from Stonehill College with a Bachelor’s degree in Biology and Boston College with an MBA in Marketing. Following college he had a long and successful career in the pharmaceutical industry, beginning at Merck as a Respiratory Sales Specialist; followed by Glaxco Smith Kline Pharmaceuticals, as an Executive Medical Center Representative; and most recently at Sumatomo Pharma America, Inc. as the Director of Market Access Training. Brian loved his work and approached it with great passion and dedication, leveraging his extensive knowledge, skills, and expertise.

Several years ago Brian invited his brother, Jason, to live with him and they became inseparable. They loved each other as only brothers can. They were known around Marlborough as “the brothers” as they were always together. With Jason came his nephew, Foster. When Foster was still a little guy he used to tell people he had two fathers, and that was true…Brian loved him as his own. Brian’s altruistic nature, coupled with his love for his family and friends, knew no bounds.

Brian had a big personality and presence; always smiling, boisterously laughing, and bringing his good energy and positivity everywhere he went. Because he was born with perfect pitch, he was always ready when called upon to grab a mic and break into song, which he did at numerous gatherings and events over the years. There was truly a bit of showman in his soul. Brian was, of course, an avid Boston Sports fan, never missing a game. Most Sundays in the fall were game days, and “the brothers” would create their feast and settle in front of the big screen for the duration. Brian also enjoyed spending time with his father, brother, and nephew striper fishing in Casco Bay, and enjoying his time with “just the boys.” And, he recently enjoyed a week in Maine, playing golf everyday with his mother and consuming as much lobster and fried clams as humanly possible. It was a

week of fun, laughter, and celebrating his recent 50th birthday. He left for home that week contented, happy, and excited about his plans for the future.

A private immediate family good-bye occurred in August, followed by cremation. As a dedicated Metallica fan, having attended many of their concerts over the years, it seemed only fitting that Brian be serenaded by Metallica on his final day. So, accompanied by his brother Jason in the transport vehicle, the car speaker blasted Metallica’s Fade to Black. He would have approved.

Brian will be remembered most for his devotion to his family, enormous generous heart, intelligence, eternal optimism, inner strength, and quick wit. His perpetual smile and big laugh filled any room he entered; lifting the spirit of all those who were fortunate enough to be in his presence. Brian brought joy and happiness wherever he went and we will love and miss him until the day we close our eyes for the final time.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 12pm – 4pm on Saturday, September 27th, 2025 at the Boathouse Bistro Beachfront, located in the Nantasket Beach Resort, 45 Hull Shore Drive in Hull, MA.
