Kimberly Dilliner, 58, of Lewiston, Maine, passed away on April 5, 2025.
Born on March 6, 1967, at Maine Medical Center, Kimberly was the beloved daughter of Allen and Jean Bowden. The middle child of three, she was a cherished sister to Joe and Matt.
Kimberly’s early years were shaped by life as part of a military family, moving frequently to follow her father’s Air Force assignments. At just six weeks old, the family relocated to Ramey Air Force Base in Puerto Rico, later living on bases in California, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, and New York before settling in Portland, Maine, in 1978.
Outgoing and vibrant as a child, Kimberly loved swimming and even participated in beauty pageants by the age of three. She graduated from Portland High School in 1985, leaving behind a trail of friendships from each Air Force base along the way.
In 1987, Kimberly began working for the U.S. Postal Service, a career that spanned over three decades until her retirement in December 2023. Her dedication and bright spirit earned her many lifelong friends through her time at the Post Office.
Though more reserved in her later years, Kimberly remained someone who connected deeply with others. In 2008 she married Dennis Dilliner and they moved to Lewiston in 2017 and continued to enjoy her many passions: collecting dolls, reading horror fiction, watching scary movies, and listening to the music of the ’70s and ’80s. She had a sharp mind and a resilient heart.
Kimberly is survived by her husband, Dennis Dilliner; her son, Joshua J. Bowden; her grandson, Vincent Bowden; her mother; and her brothers, Joe and Matt. She was predeceased by her father, Allen.
The family wishes to extend heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Central Maine Medical Center, especially Dr. Tang, for the compassion and care shown to Kimberly during her time there.
She will be deeply missed by her family, her friends and all those who had the joy of knowing her.
