Albert San Antonio
December 21, 1953 ~ November 16, 2021
Albert San Antonio III, (67) of Acton, and formerly St. Agatha, son of Albert San Antonio Jr. and Gloria (Buchanan) passed away suddenly at his home in Acton on November 16, 2021. Al was raised in Bangor and summered at Beech Hill Pond in Otis.
He married his wife Sandra in 1983 and a few years later moved to St. Agatha. Al worked at Fraser Paper in Madawaska for many years and then relocated to Acton 2 years ago to be closer to family.
He is survived by his wife Sandra (Chasse), sons Anthony (and his wife Megan) of Portland, Michael (and his wife Kiley) of Acton. Al had 3 grandchildren Teddy, Clara and Liam, and looked forward to welcoming his 4th, Walker Albert, in January. Al often said that being close to the grandchildren did his heart good. He is also survived by his brother Michael (and his wife Nancy) of Holden, his sister Mary O'Shaughnessy (and her husband Shaun) of New Hampshire, many nieces and nephews as well as the extended Chasse family.
He was predeceased by his parents and his brother Gary.
Al took great joy in his many animals through the years. There was always a pet in the San Antonio household and they were often found on Al's lap. Al loved animals of all kinds. He enjoyed birdwatching and had recently talked about getting an animal camera to put in the woods around his home. In his younger years Al loved ATVing/Snowmobiling and swimming with his boys. The San Antonio household was known for taking in anybody and everybody during the holiday's, weekends, summers, etc. Although it was Sandra who invited everyone in town, Al welcomed everyone with open arms and was always happy to have a house full. He loved being surrounded by his family and friends and would have done anything to help a neighbor in need. Al's kindness was apparent to anyone who knew him. Al will be missed tremendously.
A celebration of life service will be held at a later date.
