SANFORD—Edward J. Leveille, 80, of Sanford, died peacefully on Sunday February 23, 2025, in Kennebunk, ME. He was born on September 7, 1944 to the late Gerard and Angela (Tardif) Leveille in Rochester, New Hampshire. After graduating from high school in Berwick, ME, Ed enlisted in the AirForce and served four years, including nine months in Vietnam as an aircraft mechanic. He retired from LL Bean in 2014. Ed volunteered as a youth sports coach, umpire and referee while his children were growing up. He was an avid Golfer. He was a member of the Elks Lodge, the Victoire Club, the Rochester Country Club and the Rochester Road Runners all in Rochester, NH. After he and his wife Kathryn tragically lost their daughter Tammi, he became an active member of The Parents of Murdered Children organization. He was also a supporter of Caring Unlimited, a domestic violence resource center in Sanford, ME. He will be sadly missed by his beloved wife of 46 years, Kathryn (Paul) Leveille; his son Greg Leveille and his wife Allison of Methuen, MA, grandchildren Emma, Sophie, and Cole and his sisters Rachel Catsoulis, Rita Penney, Joanne Barr and her husband Bob. Visiting hours will be held on Saturday March 1st from 11:00AM to 1:00PM at the Carll-Heald and Black Funeral Home, 580 Main Street, Springvale.
