Stephen “Steve” L. Perry

WESTBROOK – Stephen “Steve” L. Perry, 74, passed away on February 24, 2025, in Westbrook. Steve was born on July 10, 1950, in Rumford, Maine, the son of the late Owen and Marjorie (Law) Perry.

He graduated from Cheverus High School in 1968 and attended USM. After working for several years as a carpenter in Portland for the RAM company, and later for the Maine Medical Center engineering department, Steve moved to Bethel to be near the skiing areas in Maine and New Hampshire. He loved to ski and was on the slopes every chance he could get. He was employed by the Sunday River Ski Resort in Newry for 35 years. He was adept at building and maintaining computer systems in all phases of the resort, and especially enjoyed working with telecommunications and fiber optics.

Steve was predeceased by his siblings, Alexander, Janet, and Martin Perry. He is survived by his son, Sean and his wife Susan Perry of Melbourne, Florida; brothers, Matthew and his wife Sara Perry, Robert, Andrew, and Christopher Perry; grandchildren, Christina and Mia Perry, and Elizabeth and Taylor Munsey, and many cousins.

Services for Steve will be held in private with his family at a later date

  1. Rest In Peace my friend.I worked with Steve at Sunday River for close to 30 years.Steve always asked how my family was and just an all around good guy.

  2. Always relied on Steve to help me on many computer problems that I caused or otherwise. Always very patient and easy to deal with–a good guy!

  3. Steve was such a sweetheart. Patient as the day is long and always had a smile on his face when he stopped in our (real estate) office. One of those special people you will never forget. I am grateful to have known him.

  4. Steve was a good friend. He always had a story to tell. He was kind and welcoming to all. His zest for life and the love of skiing was tremendous. One of a kind for sure. He will be missed.

  5. Steve was an all around good guy. I had the privilege to work with him for many years at Sunday River. He was kind, patient, and very knowledgeable and helpful in his field. RIP my friend…
