Mary Anne Foster

Mary Anne Foster, 78, of Sanford passed away peacefully on January 25, 2022 at Summer Commons in Sanford. She was born on September 23, 1943, the daughter of the late George and Doris (Lolley) Snell in Sanford where she grew up and attended local schools and attended Thomas College in Waterville. Mary Anne lived most of her life in Sanford but resided in Arizona for a short time as well. After moving home from Arizona in 1987 Mary Anne was employed at Newton Center in Sanford which became a very special place for her. She worked there for many years until her retirement. She enjoyed the residents and the people very much and often visited after retirement. She was an involved and active member of the Sanford First Baptist Church. Mary Anne took great pride and joy in her family and especially her grandchildren. She is predeceased by her son David Foster. Survivors include her brother Russell Snell, daughter Stacey Plante and her husband Dan of Sanford, her daughter in law Pam Foster, her grandchildren Allisyn, Isaac and Kassidy Plante, Nicholas Melcher, Amanda Morin, and her husband Andrew, two great grandchildren River and Gunner, and many special friends. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, February 6, 2022 at 1:00 P.M. at Sanford First Baptist Church at 905 Main St., Sanford. Burial will held in the spring.
