Germaine Cote

Germaine M. (Moreau) Cote, 95, died Friday, April 28, 2023 at the Manor at Lake Jackson in Sebring, FL. Germaine was born on April 24, 1928 to the late Josephat and Lucienne (Lemelin) Moreau in Sanford. She attended local schools and on November 13, 1948, married Roger A. Cote. Germaine was a homemaker while raising her four children. As they grew she was employed at Aletta’s Dress Shop and enjoyed working there for seven years. Then she retired with her husband, and they enjoyed spending time in Florida and going on cruises. Eventually they moved to Florida full time to be closer to their daughter Nancy. She was predeceased by her husband of 67 years (2015), her son Gary Cote (2012), her brothers, Maurice, Adrien, Philippe, Edmund, Eddie, and Henry, and son in law Robert Whirley. Survivors include her children Claire (Cote) Trott and her husband Louis, Steve Cote and his wife Terry, and Nancy (Cote) Whirley, three grandchildren, Jeremy and Jeffrey Trott and Eric Cote, and six great grandchildren, Britney, Bryce, Brady, Briana, Aylah and Jeff Jr. and many nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, June 14 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Therese of Lisieux Parish, Holy Family Church, 66 North Ave., Sanford. Burial to follow at St. Ignatius Cemetery.
