Lovely gentle Fern would come and sit next to her friend Madeleine on Thursday mornings to pray and sing with the residents at SealRock. It was Fern who showed me her copy of the Serenity Prayer. We began saying it together in the group from then on and the residents were grateful. Dear Fern was gentle, humble, and caring. She was just the kind of person God wants us all to be. We will keep her family in our prayers. Carol Lewis

Rest in peace Mrs. Bougie 🙏
That sometimes family gone by can live on in others where you least expect it.
I am blessed to have known Fern. She was one of the hardest working individuals that I have ever had the pleasure to meet. Only one week after her stroke in 2019, she worked tirelessly to regain her strength and speech to be able to continue to be the staple she was to her loving, and equally dedicated family. Fern was so lucky to be surrounded by such a devoted bunch of wonderful people, but with her spirit, who could help but fall in love with her and want to become part of that positive presence. She will be missed dearly. – Thank you, Fern. You were a dear soul, friend, and found family member. Love, Kristen
How excited she always was to show me pictures and share updates of her growing family!
How much she reminded me of my own beloved grandmother.
For the remaining years after she was discharged from her rehabilitation program, she saved her speech therapy exercises and continued to do them regularly when she wasn’t doing her word search puzzles!
My thoughts and prayers to the family. She will be greatly missed. Hugs and love to all.
