Lucille M. Cobbett, 74, of Sanford, died unexpectedly at home on April 18.She was born in Sanford on June 2, 1932, the daughter of Philip and Blanche (Morin) Thibeault. She attended St. Ignatius School and then went to hairdressing school in Lewiston.After her schooling, Lucille worked as a hairstylist and eventually opened her own hair salon. She then worked in local shoe shops and then for 20 years was employed with Sprague Electric. In her retirement, she enjoyed traveling with her husband, camping, and especially participating in craft fairs, as she was an excellent crafter. Lucille made sure that all of her children and grandchildren received one of her handmade quilts.She founded a widows and widowers support group which she facilitated for many years. She was a member of the AARP and the Red Hat Society. She enjoyed spending time with her many girlfriends going to dinner, taking bus trips and playing card games.Lucille was a communicant of St. Therse of Lisieux Parish, Holy Family Church, and was a member of the Ladies of St. Anne.She was predeceased by her parents Philip and Blanche Thibeault, her husband Wilbur (Bill) Cobbett in 1997, and by a brother, Maurice Thibeault.Survivors include 4 children, Stephen P. Cobbett, Scott R. Cobbett and his wife Karen, Paula Lantagne and her husband Leonard, Karla Bergeron and her husband Aaron, grandchildren Christopher Cobbett, Jeffrey Cobbett, Jessica Cupp, Michelle Ontiveros, Stephen Cobbett, Charlotte Cobbett, Caleb Cobbett, Amanda Day, Deidra Lantagne, Ashley Bergeron and Jacob Bergeron, great grandchildren Ian Epprecht, Samantha Garcia, Dylan Cobbett and Morgan Cobbett, brother Robert G. Thibeault and his wife Jan and several nieces and nephews.Visiting hours will be held on Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the Lafrance-Lambert & Black Funeral Home, 29 Winter Street, Sanford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 10:30 AM at St. Therse of Lisieux Parish, Holy Family Church. Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery in Sanford.
