Eleanor L. Clough

Eleanor L. Clough, 85, of Springvale, died on Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at the Greenwood Center in Sanford.Eleanor was born on September 13, 1928 to Almon and Nellie (Cronin) Gordon in Acton where she grew up and attended local schools. After marrying Leon Clough the couple relocated to Milton Mills where they lived for many years and raised four children.Eleanor was an active Jehovah's Witness. She had been a member of the Sanford-Springvale Kingdom Hall and served for years as a Christian volunteer visiting many people in their homes. She was a very social woman with many friends and had been blessed with the "gift of gab." She was an avid reader and enjoyed traveling to different places. She will be remembered as a kind and loving woman who was devoted to her family and will be dearly missed by her family and friends.Eleanor was predeceased by her husband, Leon Clough.Surviving are four children, Sandra Mederios of Billerica, MA, Gregory Clough and his wife Lana of Shapleigh, Gordon Clough and his wife Annette of Porter, and Valerie Labonte and her husband Gary of Pelham, NH; nine grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and a brother, Leo Gordon and his wife Martha of Rochester.A memorial service will be held at 7:00 PM on Friday, August 8th at the Sanford Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses located at 32 Shaws Ridge Road in Sanford.Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society of New York, Inc., Attention Treasure's Office, 25 Columbia Heights Brooklyn, NY 11201-2483.Arrangements are under the direction of Black Funeral Homes and Cremation Service, Sanford-Springvale.To leave a message of condolence for the family please click on the condolences tab to the left.
