Rudy S. Clough
Rudy S. Clough, 81, of Sanford, died on Sunday, July 21, 2013 at the Hyder Family Hospice House in Dover.Rudy was born to Sumner and Martha (Peterson) Clough on February 4, 1932 in Buxton where he grew up and attended local schools. Rudy held several jobs during his life. When he was young he used to help his mother at her store and her dance hall in Joy Valley. He went on to work for Shaw Brother's Excavation in Dayton, Snow's Canning Factory in Pine Point, Seamloc Carpet in Sanford and Pratt & Whitney in North Berwick where he stayed until his retirement. Rudy was a cat lover. He was an excellent small engine mechanic and enjoyed fixing machines for anybody that asked. He was an avid NASCAR fan and when he was younger, drove a stock car at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway for several years. Rudy was predeceased by his parents and by his aunt and uncle, Kenneth and Ethel Scribner.Surviving are his wife, Carol Clough of Sanford; his cousin, Barbara Anderson; his sister-in-law, Joyce Chase of Connecticut and several cousins, nieces and nephews.At Rudy's request there will be no services. Interment will be at the South Buxton Cemetery in South Buxton.Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider sending a memorial contribution to the charity of their choice.The family wishes to extend their appreciation to Rudy's friends, doctors and nurses for all of the care and compassion shown during his period of declining health.Arrangements are under the direction of Black Funeral Homes and Cremation Service, Sanford-Springvale.To leave a message of condolence for the family please click on the condolences tab to the left.
