The funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, June 19th at 11:00 AM.****Albert E. Chevalier, 85, of Sanford, died on June 16, 2009 at Greenwood Center in Sanford.Albert was born in Springvale on October 18, 1923 to Joseph and Amanda Beaudoin Chevalier and attended local schools. He served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II. During his working life Albert was employed as a welder at the Portsmouth Naval Ship Yard, the Baker Company and Wasco.Albert was a fun loving and outgoing person who lived life to the fullest. He enjoyed playing tennis and chess and going hunting and fishing. He was an avid dancer, going nearly every Saturday night for 45 years to the Rockingham Ballroom in New Market, New Hampshire. Albert was a very proud man and was always very well dressed. He traveled extensively throughout the United States, Mexico and the Caribbean Islands. He was a member of St. Therse of Lisieux Parish Sanford/Springvale, the VFW, the Moose Lodge in Dover, New Hampshire and N.A.R.F.E. Albert will be remembered as a kind and loving man who enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Albert was predeceased by his wife Rejeanne Chevalier.Surviving are his fiancee, Eloise Rodrigue of Sanford; two brothers, Maurice Chevalier of North Carolina and Paul Chevalier of Sanford; a sister, Adrienne Kalman of Sanford; four sisters-in-law, Velma Chevalier of Sanford, Madeliene Jolin of Springvale, Gladys Chevalier of Washington and Mildred Chevalier of Sanford and many nieces and nephews.A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Friday, June 19th at St. Therse of Lisieux Parish, Notre Dame Church located on Payne Street in Springvale.
