George R. Charron

George Rene Charron Sr., 82, of Acton Maine passed away after a brief illness on February 3, 2022.
George was born in New York City in 1939 and moved to Rhode Island in his childhood. He had many siblings. Norman, Bob, Roger, and Marie. All of R.I.
In 1958 George married the love of his life, Josephine. Together they had 7 children. George loved his country and enlisted into the Rhode Island National Guard and served in the 861st Engineer Company for 26 years until he retired.
George enjoyed traveling and watching the Yankees. George especially loved visiting the casino.
George is survived by his wife Josephine Charron of Acton, Maine and children: George Charron Jr. of Washington, Kathy Mowry of Acton Maine, Carol Charron-Perry of Warwick R.I., John Charron of Acton Maine, Barbara Charron of Warwick R.I., Diane Hanson of Somersworth NH, and Joey Charron of Acton Maine. George has 19 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren. All who loved their Grampa and will miss him very much! George was predeceased by his brother Jerry Charron of R.I. and his great-grandson Michael Mowry III of Wakefield NH.
A military funeral will be held in Rhode Island at a later date.
Arrangements are under the direction of Black Funeral Homes and Cremation Service, Sanford-Springvale.
