Edward A. Chaleki

Edward A. Chaleki, 73, of Acton, died at his home on Sunday, January 29, 2017.Edward was born in Worcester, Massachusetts on August 11, 1943 to Edward and Sophie (Golubowski) Chaleki. He grew up in West Boylston, Massachusetts where he attended local schools. In 1977 he married Elizabeth Douglas and together they shared nearly 40 years of marriage. Edward was employed for many years as a service manager at Parker Oil Company and Oil Express in Holden, Massachusetts. He retired in 1999 and in 2000 he and his wife relocated to their home in Acton.Edward enjoyed nature and wildlife. He loved vacationing at Moosehead Lake, camping, boating, swimming fishing and spending time outdoors. He was a handy person and liked woodworking and carpentry. He was a loving and devoted husband and father and enjoyed spending time with his family.Surviving are his wife, Elizabeth "Betty" Chaleki of Acton; his daughter, Jinja Rachkoskie and her husband John of Springvale; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.A private burial will take place in the spring.Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider sending a memorial contribution to the Salvation Army, 871 Main Street, Sanford, Maine 04073.Arrangements are under the direction of Black Funeral Homes and Cremation Service, Sanford-Springvale.To leave a message of condolence for the family please click on the condolences tab to the left.
