Wayne R. Caron

Wayne R. Caron, 55, of Sanford died Sunday, October 2, 2005 at Maine Medical Center in Portland.Wayne was born In Sanford on January 17, 1950 to Raymond and Elizabeth Ashworth Caron. On June 25, 1977, he married Marsha Merrifield Caron. Wayne owned and operated the Caron Fruit Company in Sanford, later in life he worked as the General Manager of the Colonial Motel in Ogunquit.Mr. Caron was very active in local politics. He served in several different roles including director of the Chamber of Commerce in Ogunquit and as secretary of the Sanford Charter Commission.Surviving are his wife, Marsha Caron of Sanford; his mother, Elizabeth Caron of Sanford; a sister, Jane Caron Hackett of Sanford; an aunt, Evelyn Strain of Brockton, MA; a niece Jane Ellen McCabe of Sanford and a nephew, Raymond Hackett of Sanford.Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the North Parish Congregational Church, Abiding Memorial Fund, 893 Main Street, Sanford, Maine 04073.
