Lorette Carignan

Lorette (Perreault) Carignan 92, of Sanford, passed peacefully in her sleep on December 21, 2013 at the Newton Center in Sanford.Lorette was born in Springvale, May 28, 1921, the daughter of Treffle and Lillian (Cormier) Perreault. She was employed at several shoe shops during her life, including Universal Shoe Company and then Allied Novelty Shoe Factory in Springvale. After its closing she worked at other shoe shops in Sanford before retiring from Corey Shoe in 1982.Lorette was a devout Catholic. She had been a communicant of St. Ignatius Church and a member of the Ladies of St. Ann. She had a love for her church, family, friends, and co-workers.Lorette was predeceased by her husband Gilbert, her parents Treffle and Lillian as well as her three brothers: Edward, Val, and Raymond. Surviving are her children Richard Carignan of Sanford, Kathleen (Carignan) Cannon and her husband James Cannon of New Jersey; her sisters Jeannette Belanger of Sanford and Ethel Hackett of North Waterboro; her brother Ronald Perreault of Sanford; six grandchildren, Stephen Carignan, Amy Proto and significant other Preston Noyes, Daniel Cannon, Kate Cannon and Michelle and Stephanie Abbott, one great-grandson Justyn Proto and many nieces and nephews.A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Saturday, December 28th at St. Therse of Lisieux Parish, Holy Family Church located on North Avenue in Sanford. Interment will be held in the spring at St. Ignatius Cemetery in Sanford.Arrangements are under the direction of Black Funeral Homes and Cremation Service, Sanford-Springvale.Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the Animal Welfare Society, Inc., P.O.
