Marcel G. Carette
Marcel G. "Butch" Carette, 90, of Alfred, died April 5 at the Newton Center in Sanford after a long illness.He was born in Thetford Mines, Quebec, Canada on November 26, 1920, the son of Edgar and Roseanne (Daigle) Carette. He came to this area as a child and attended Notre Dame School.Butch was employed over the years with the former Goodall-Sanford Textile Mills and then with Baker Company, retiring in 1986.He was a communicant of Notre Dame Church in Springvale and was a member of the Springvale council of the Knights of Columbus.Survivors include his wife of almost 64 years, Levina "Lee" (Landry) Carette of Alfred, a sister, Theresa Truman of Saco and several nieces and nephews.A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 11:00 AM at the Notre Dame Church of St. Therse of Lisieux Parish, 10 Payne Street, Springvale. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery in Springvale.The family would like to express its appreciation to SolAmor Hospice, the staff of Newton Center and especially William F.
