Raymond A. Camire
Raymond A. Camire, 86, of Springvale, passed away on Friday June 20, 2008 at the Newton Center in Sanford. He was born on August 19, 1921 in Sanford, a son of Edmond and Olivine (Gagne) Camire.He attended Holy Family School and Sanford High School. He was a lifelong communicant of Notre Dame Catholic Church in Springvale.He was employed at Bath Shipbuilding in South Portland. He then served in the US Army during WWII. Following the war he worked at the former Goodall Sanford Mills until they closed. He then worked in construction at the former Pease Air Force Base. He retired from the Portsmouth Navy Ship Yard in 1984 with 20 years of service. He was a member of the Springvale K.C's, the VFW and L'Union St. Jean Baptiste. He also enjoyed vegetable gardening.He is predeceased by his wife, Bertha (Legere) Camire who passed away in 2001.Survivors include his three sons and their families. Dennis Camire of Saco, Michael Camire and his wife, Kathy of Dayton and their three children, Matthew Camire and his wife, Sarah and their three children, Brandon, Evan and Kayla Jane. Nathan Camire and his wife, Amy and their daughter, Emma. Emily Camire. James Camire and his wife, Rose Ann of Sanford and their four children, Christine Caramihalis and her husband, Andrew and their two children, Colton and Marina, Mark Camire and his wife, Cheryl and their three children, Ryan, Summer Ann and Brook, Brian Camire and his wife, Tiffiny and their two children, Evan and Katherine, Karen Allen and her husband, Robert and their two children, Josh and Julia. Mr. Camire is also survived by one sister, Henrietta Dumont and one brother, Ronald Camire both of Sanford.A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday June 24th at 10 :00 AM at St. Therse of Lisieux Parish- Notre Dame Church in Springvale.
