Raymond Cambra
Raymond Cambra, 72, of Acton died at his home on Tuesday March 7, 2007.Raymond was born on April 19, 1934 in WestPoint, MA to Joseph and Sophia Cieto Cambra. He served his country for 23 years in the U.S. Air Force earning a degree in electrical engineering during his enlistment. After leaving the military, Mr. Cambra worked as a self-employed master electrician and several other jobs. He was a very active member of the Masons and was involved with several different lodges, holding various offices throughout his membership. He was also an active member of the American Legion Post 134 in Alfred.Mr. Cambra was a very kind and generous man. He enjoyed helping people; volunteering countless hours with both the Masons and the American Legion helping to put on dinners, organize blood drives and helping with many other functions. Raymond was an excellent cook; he enjoyed making dishes for his family and friends as well as the different functions for the Masons and the American Legion. He also enjoyed boating, reading and using his computer. Raymond will be remembered as a very generous and kind-hearted person and will be deeply missed by his family and friends. Raymond was predeceased by his wife Ollie and by his nephew, George Kent.Surviving are a sister, Arline Kent of Acton; a brother, Robert Cambra, of Fall River, MA; 3 nephews, David Eaton of Sanford, Malcolm Cambra of Westport, MA, Dana Kent of Norton, MA and a niece, Brenda Peixe of Westport, MA.A period of visitation will be held from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM with a funeral service following at 12:00 PM on Saturday, March 10, 2007 at the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home, located at 580 Main Street in Springvale. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be sent to the American Legion Post # 134 in Alfred, The Masonic Lodge #55 in Alfred or the York County Shriners.
