Ida M. Burgess

Ida M. Burgess, 60, of Sanford, died at her home on Monday, March 2, 2020.Ida was born in Lewiston on July 21, 1959. She grew up in Lisbon where she attended local schools. In 1982 she married Richard Burgess and together they shared nearly 38 years of marriage. She was always a hard worker and held several jobs over the years including working and the Gibbs/Mobil Station, The Depot, Mary Lou's Mobil, Roger's Supa Dolla and finally Threads of Hope. Ida loved being around people and working with the public. She enjoyed going to the beach where she shared many happy days with her husband over the years. She was an excellent cook and liked to prepare and share meals with all of her family and friends. Ida was a devoted aunt and loved spending time with her nieces and nephews. She was also an animal lover and was especially fond of her pet dogs Zoey and Lilly. Ida will be remembered as a loving and devoted wife, daughter, aunt and friend and will be dearly missed by everyone who knew her.Ida was predeceased by her two brothers, Donald Dehetre, Jr. and Timothy Dehetre.Surviving are her husband, Richard Burgess of Sanford; her mother, Katherine Dehetre of South Portland; her aunt, Nancy Galigher; her uncle, Raymond Gamache; her niece, April; her nephew, Christopher; her cousins, Shirley Rogers and Ronnie Spaulford and close family friends, Raymond Allain and Mary Lou and the staff at Threads of Hope.Arrangements for Ida will be announced at a later date.
