Harrison L. Buck, Jr., 93, of Acton, died December 20 at the Greenwood Center in Sanford after a long illness.He was born in Dorchester, MA on September 6, 1917, the son of Harrison L. and Violet (Dorr) Buck, Sr. and attended local schools. After high school, he served with the US Army during World War II.Harry was employed for 30 years as an electrician with John Hancock Insurance Company in Boston.During his leisure time, he enjoyed golf, bowling and skiing. Harry was remembered by family members as a truly nice, gentle man who shared his love with all those around him.An active member of the Acton Congregational Church, he served as its moderator, as a deacon, as an usher and as its treasurer.He was predeceased by his first wife Phyllis (Quimby) Buck, a stepson Richard Monroe, by a brother Ralph Buck and a sister Marion Molner.Survivors include his wife of 26 years, Phyllis (Hammel) Monroe Buck of Acton, 3 step children, Reginald R. Monroe, Jr. of Meredith, NH, Ronald L. Monroe of W. Newfield, David Dyer of Shapleigh, 11 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 8 at 11:00 AM at the Acton Congregational Church with the Rev. Peter Mercer officiating..
