Leo P. Brunette, 69, died Friday at Maine Medical Center, Portland following a short illness. He was born in Sanford, January 21, 1939 one of eleven children to Albert & Irene (Costello) Brunette, and was educated at the former St. Ignatius School. He was employed for many years at Wasco Products and later at Seamloc Carpert Co., retiring from there due to ill health. Leo was a parishoner of St. Therse of Lisieux Parish, at St. Ignatius Church. He enjoyed playing pool, cards and espically cribbage. He was a big sports fan and loved the Red Sox and Patriots.He served three years in the Army National Guard, a life member of the Wolves Club, Sanford K of C and the American Legion. He was predeceased by his parents, two brothers, Rudy and Roland and two sisters, Lorraine Skillins and Joyce Dube.Survivors are six sisters, Shirley Libbey and her husband Richard, Sr., Sylvia Marsh and her husband Clifford, Terri Baker, and Paula Robichaud all of Sanford. Rita Ricker and her husband Herbert of Berwick and Linda Millett of Alfred, long time friend Nancy Hussey with whom he resided and many nieces and nephews. Visiting hours will be Tuesday from 5-8 PM at the Lafrance-Lambert & Black Funeral Home, 29 Winter St., Sanford. A prayer service will be conducted at 7 :00PM .
