Mary Jane Bourque

SANFORD Mary Jane Bourque, 82, a life long resident of Sanford and for the past two years a resident of Varney Crossing Nursing Home in No. Berwick died Wednesday morning at H. D. Goodall Hospital following a long illness.She was born in Sanford June 22, 1925 a daughter of Arthur H. & Eva (Parent) Tebbetts. Mary Jane was educated in local schools and was a graduate of Sanford High School. Following graduation she went to work at the former Goodall-Sanford Textile Mills in the payroll department. Following its closing she worked at the former Brooks Woolen Co., Seamloc Carpet, and Wasco Products as its office managers.She later retired from the Town Clerk's office in Sanford.Mary Jane was a faithful comunicant of St. Ignatius Church and a 50 year member of the Daughters of Isabella and a past vice regent. She enjoyed doing crafts in her home.Her husband Walter died in 1982.Survivors are two sisters, Joyce Croteau of No. Berwick and Irene Fagan and her husband Patrick of Sanford. Three brothers, Richard Tebbetts of Kokomo, IN, Paul Tebbetts and his wife Donna of Waterboro and Robert Tebbetts and his wife Beverly of Bangor. Her sister-in-law Pauline Grondin of Sanford, along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 :00 AM Saturday April 5th at St. Therse of Lisieux Parish, St. Ignatius Church, Sanford.
