Gale M. Bonney, 59 of Sanford, ME passed away at her home surrounded by friends and family on Sunday October 21 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Sanford on December 5, 1952 to Jeannette (Lessard) and Conrad Gosselin, attended local schools and graduated from Sanford High School in 1971. She joined and served in the Air Force for 6 years until 1977. She married Daniel Bonney in Sanford on June 20th 1992 and together they raised their daughter Haley. She worked briefly for Cyro Industries in Sanford and later as a Case Manager for the state of NH for 20 years. Gale was tireless and selfless in her love for her family and friends. She took great pride in the time she spent babysitting her granddaughter for many years. She also enjoyed travelling with her husband, family and friends around the US, Canada, and Italy. She was also an upstanding and devoted member of the Catholic Church and was involved in local prayer and bible study groups where she made many close friends. She was a kind and loving woman and will be dearly missed. Gale will be remembered for her compassion, kindness, generosity and thoughtfulness towards others. She is predeceased by her parents. She is survived by her husband of 20 years Daniel Bonney of Sanford; her daughter Haley Labbe and her husband Daniel and granddaughter Hannah of Sanford; sister Diane Scofield of Biddeford and her daughters, Gabrielle, Whitney, and Kimberly; brothers Robert (Guy) Gosselin of Sanford and his daughter, Bobbi-Lynn; Gary Gosselin and his wife, Marjorie of Lebanon and their children, Mandy, Nicole, and Benjamin; her dog companion, Trixie. Thank you to friends and family for all of your love and support.Visiting hours for Gale will be on Thursday from 4 to 7PM at the Lafrance-Lambert & Black Funeral Home, 29 Winter Street, Sanford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 10AM at St. Therse of Lisieux Parish at Holy Family Church. Burial with military honors will follow at the Southern Maine Veterans Cemetery in Springvale.Arrangements are under the direction of Black Funeral Homes & Cremation Service, Sanford-Springvale.Condolences may be expressed at the Condolences tab at left.
