Rachel R. (Cote) Boisvert, 77, of Lakeland, Florida, died on March 13, 2020, after a long and courageous battle with Myelodysplastic Syndrome.Rachel was born in Sanford on December 8, 1942, the middle of three children, to Emile D. and Bertha (Morrissette) Cote.She graduated from St. Ignatius High School in 1961 and later graduated from the University of Maine in Orono.Rachel taught briefly in both Massachusetts and Biddeford before spending over three decades teaching fifth grade at Sanford Middle School/Willard School (17 years of which she co-taught with her husband). She retired in 2002.She was an avid reader, enjoyed seeing plays, and welcomed any opportunity to go to restaurants or play board games with friends and family. She looked forward every year to the return of good weather so she could spend her weekends looking for yard sale bargains, a Saturday tradition that she used to maintain strong bonds with four generations of family.Rachel was predeceased by her parents and her beloved granddaughter Juliette, as well as her loving husband of 45 years, Richard J. Boisvert.Surviving are her daughters, Christine Dupuis of Falmouth and son-in-law David Dupuis of Sanford, and Cheryl and her husband, Jason Worswick, of Scarborough; son, Brian Boisvert and his wife, Sarah Herlihy, of Boston; five grandchildren, Matthew, Emily, and Beth Dupuis and Griffin and Drake Worswick; two brothers, Emile and his wife Phyllis Cote, of Lakeland, Florida, and Donald and his wife Gloria Cote, of Texas; and many beloved nieces and nephews.Services will be postponed until a later date when loved ones can gather and celebrate her wonderful life.In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the MDS Foundation (www.mds-foundation.org) and Disabled American Veterans (www.dav.org).To leave a message of condolence click tab at left.
