Jacqueline Marie Blaisdell, 84, of Springvale, passed away on Friday March 27, 2009 at the H.D. Goodall Hospital in Sanford. She was born on January 21, 1925 in Rochester, NH, a daughter of Ludger and Aurore (Duchesneau) Cossette.Jacqueline starred in many school plays and musicals in which she tap-danced and sang. At age 12-13, she had her own Saturday morning radio show on WHEB in Portsmouth, NH on which she took requests for songs and would sing both in French and English depending on the request. At age 16, accompanied by her father, she sang and traveled with the Carl Broggi Band on college tours. Being a strong woman and ahead of her time, she successfully raised three children on her own. At about age 35, Jackie went back to school and earned her beautician's license. She successfully ran a beauty parlor out of the back room of her home in Springvale for several years.She is predeceased by her husband, Merle Blaisdell, daughter, Pamela, her parents, Ludger and Aurore Cossette, brother, Paul Cossette.She is survived by her daughter, Cathryn Poulin of Springvale, son, Wayne Poulin of San Antonio, TX, brother, Reginald Cossette of Gonic, NH, grandson, Rick DesFosses of Alfred, and great grandsons, Nathan and Jake DesFosses.At her request there will be no funeral services.Contributions may be made in her memory to the Eastern Paralyzed Veterans Association of America, 24 Mill Brook Road, Wilton, NH 03086.Arrangements are under the direction of the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home, 580 Main Street, Springvale.Condolences may be expressed at www.blackfuneralhomes.com
