Donald R. Binette

Donald R. Binette, 83, of Sanford, passed away at his home in Acton on Monday September 25, 2017. He was born in Sanford on August 30, 1934, a son of the late Adelard and Yvette (Couture) Binette. Donald graduated from St. Ignatius High School. He then served in the US Army.For 37 years he was employed by the Metropolitan Life Insurance Company. Following retirement he worked at Warrens Office Supply. Donald volunteered for the Meals on Wheels program, was a 4th Degree Knights of Columbus member and member of the Lions Club. He was a lifelong communicant St. Ignatius Church, (now St. Therse of Lisieux Parish) in Sanford and had been a involved in the Cursillo movement.He is predeceased by his two brothers, Raoul Binette and his wife, Cecile, Robert Binette, brother in law, Leon Jacques.He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Laurette (Lapointe) Binette, children, Michael Binette and his wife, Suzanne of Topsfield, MA, John Binette and his wife, Joanne of Alexandria, VA, Donna Foster and her husband, Michael of Gorham, grandchildren, Katherine Foster, Jonathan Foster, Rebecca Foster, Amanda Foster, Benjamin Foster, Olivia Binette, William Binette, Diana Binette, Sarah Binette, three sisters, Jeannine LeBrun and her husband, Roland, Lorraine Keenan and her husband, James, Irene Jacques, sister in law, Mary Jane Bougie.Visiting hours will be on Thursday from 4 to 7PM at the Lafrance-Lambert & Black Funeral Home, 29 Winter Street. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 10AM at St. Therse of Lisieux Parish, Holy Family Church.
