Germaine M. Bilodeau

Germaine M. Bilodeau, 91 years old, of Sanford, ME died Monday, December 11, 2006 At Varney Crossing Nursing Home in North Berwick, ME.Germaine was born in Springvale, ME on October 9, 1915. She was the daughter of the late Pierre and Bella Couture Morin. She attended Notre Dame School in Springvale, and has been a lifelong resident of the Sanford/Springvale community.Germaine was a beautiful homemaker, and along with her husband raised three daughters. She enjoyed cooking, embroidering, and watching over the children of her neighborhood. She was affectionately known as Memre' by many. She was a communicant of St. Ignatius Church in Sanford, and a Daughter of Isabella for over 40 years.Predeceasing Germaine was her husband Wilfred; twosisters, Palmyre "Pam" Blanchard and Sandra Lavertu; two brothers, Aldage and Oscar Morin, and a grandson Raymond Gagnon Jr.Surviving are three daughters, Marie Claudette Thyng of North Berwick, ME, Sandra Gagnon and her husband Raymond Sr. of Leesburg, FL, Jeanne Bilodeau of Sanford. Also surviving are 5 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, 4 great great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.Visiting hours for Germaine will be held this Friday, December 15, 2006 from 2 to 4 PM and 6 to 8 PM at the Lafrance-Lambert & Black Funeral Home, 29 Winter St. Sanford, ME. An 11:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday the 16th at St. Ignatius Church in Sanford.In lieu of flowers the Bilodeau family encourages memorials be made to the Varney Crossing Activity Fund, 47 Elm St., North Berwick, ME 03906.
