Richard J. Bill

Richard James Bill, 56, a longtime resident of Springvale, died July 8, 2007 in Carson, Virginia following a long illness.He was born in Kittery, a son of Charles and Jeannette (Levesque) Bill, Sr.A graduate of Dover High School and Plymouth State College, he was employed for many years as a retail manager in the Staples and Ames Department Store chains. For several years, he was the manager of the Ames Department Store in Sanford.He was an avid gardener and loved exploring nature. His family recalled what a terrific father and husband he was.He was predeceased by his mother and by a brother, Charles Bill, Jr.Survivors include his loving wife of 35 years, Bonnie F. Bill of Carson, VA, his father, Charles Bill, Sr. and his wife Debbie, two daughters, Sara Bill of Sanford, Abby Bill of San Diego, CA, a son, Matthew Bill of San Diego, CA, a granddaughter Lauryn O'Connor of Sanford, two sisters, Cynthia Bill of Lebanon, Alecia Philbrick and her family of Evans Mills, NY, a brother, Todd Cushing of El Dorado, AR, and numerous nieces and nephews.Visiting hours will be held on Friday, August 3 from 5-8 PM at the Lafrance-Lambert & Black Funeral Home, 29 Winter Street, Sanford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, August 4 at 11 AM at St. Therse of Lisieux Parish, Notre Dame Church in Springvale.Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the American Cancer Society, One Main Street Suite 300, Topsham, ME 04086.
