Joan C. Bickford

Joan Cartwright Bickford died peacefully at Springbrook Nursing Home on March 15, 2018, after a long battle with dementia. Joan was born October 3, 1948, but gained a new lease on life August 9, 2002 when she married her husband Gene. Joan found great joy in the little things in life, especially her three grandsons. Sleepovers that would culminate in homemade breakfast and tales of how, "Strawberry milk came from strawberry cows", were a favorite. Joan is survived by her husband Gene, her son and daughter in-law Jason and Kristin McDermott, three grandsons: Bailey, Riley and Connor, her stepson and daughter in-law Steven and Susan Bickford, her nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren, a daughter Ann-Marie McDermott, her mother Helen Cartwright, her three brothers Dennis, Peter, Richard and their families. She is Preceded by her father Fredrick "George" Cartwright.A private burial will be scheduled later this spring.Condolences may be expressed at www.blackfuneralhomes.com
