Phyllis A. Wright, 89 of Acton, passed away after a long illness on Tuesday, May 28, 2013 at the Greenwood Center in Sanford. She was born August 18, 1923, in Alfred, one of 11 children of the late William John and Lulu (Stone) Picken.She was very active member of the Pleasant Street Free Baptist Church in Springvale. She was a member of The Gleaners at the church. She was a member and a Past Worthy Matron of the Order of Eastern Star.She was always finding ways to volunteer and help people. A great cook, she helped prepare many suppers for the church, as well as for the annual installations at the Masonic Lodge. She loved working in her gardens.For many years she worked at Sprague Electric. After retirement she went to work at the Acton School cafeteria.She is predeceased by her first husband, Maurice Butler and her second husband, Sidney Wright.She is survived by her daughter, Lola Webster of Springvale, her son, Douglas Butler of New Hampshire, her sisters, Shirley Payeur of Sanford, Charlotte Stevens of Sanford, Albertine Littlefield of North Carolina, five grandchildren, five great grandchildren.Visiting hours will be on Thursday May 30th from 6 to 8PM at the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home, 580 Main Street, Springvale. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Friday at 1PM. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Springvale.Condolences may be expressed at www.blackfuneralhomes.com
