Elaine A. Williamson, 61, of Sanford, ME, formerly of Woburn, MA, died Sunday, September 30, 2007 at her residence.Elaine was born in Lynn, MA on November 29, 1945 to J. Callan and Helen McLaughlin MacDonald and attended local schools. She was a 1963 graduate of Woburn High School in Woburn, MA.Mrs. Williamson traveled to and lived in many different parts of the world. She made many friends along the way and made it a point to maintain these relationships regardless of the distance between them. She enjoyed quilting and had been a member of the International Quilters Club in Singapore. She enjoyed reading just about anything. One of her favorite activities while living in the Cayman Islands was lying in a hammock by the ocean with a book.Elaine was a generous and caring person. She was a very devoted wife, mother and grandmother, always putting her family first. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy and she always made it a point to know what was going on in their lives. She will be remembered as a very warm and loving person and will be deeply missed by her friends and family.Elaine was predeceased by her daughter Theresa Holub.Surviving are her husband Robert Williamson of Sanford, ME; two grandsons, Austin and Dallin Holub of Anamosa, IA; four sisters, Jean Alderson of Wells, ME, Kathleen MacDonald of Stoneham, MA, Carol Lynch of Burlington, MA and Barbara Purdy of Waterford, ME; a brother, Robert MacDonald of Westminster, MA and many nieces and nephews.A period of visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 2nd from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home, 580 Main Street in Springvale, ME. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, October 3rd at 9:30 AM. Burial will follow at Pulpit Rock Cemetery in Waterford, ME.In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be sent to Hospice of Southern Maine, 901 Washington Street, Suite 104, Portland, ME 04103-9864.
