Evelyn M. White

Evelyn May White, 96 of Alfred, passed away on Monday June 30, 2008 at the Varney Crossing Nursing Home in North Berwick. She was born on November 4, 1911, in Brockton, MA. She attended local schools in Holbrook, MA and graduated from Sumner High School. In 1975 she retired to Maine with her husband Albert where they made their home in Alfred and then Sanford. Mrs. White was a homemaker who took much pride in her family. She raised her only son, Wayne and devoted most of her life to caring for his four children. A great cook she also enjoyed gardening, skating and tobogganing.She is predeceased by her husband of 49 years, Albert P. White who passed away in 1983. She is also predeceased by her son Wayne White who passed away in 2005.She is survived by her four grandchildren, Lindsay White, Cynthia White, Keith White and Lisa Stevens. Survivors also include her nine great grandchildren, Ashley White, Kristiana White, Ryan White, Eddie Satterfield, Kayla White, Shannon White, Kyle White, Caleb White and Brandon White.Visiting hours for Mrs. White will be held on Sunday from 2 to 4pm at the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home, 580 Main Street, Springvale. A funeral service will be held on Monday at 9am at the funeral home.
