Evelyn Waddington

Evelyn Waddington, 102, of Springvale, passed peacefully on September 20 at the home of her niece Marjorie Morrison with her loving family at her side.She was born in Alfred on June 8, 1904 to the late Arthur and Linnie (Taylor) Burbank. She spent her youth in Alfred and attended schools there. In later years she lived in Springvale and spent her summers at her cottage at Wells Beach.Mrs. Waddington were lovingly devoted to her nieces and nephews. She enjoyed baking, gardening and tending to her backyard birds.She was a member of The First Church of Christ, Scientist in Boston and the Christian Science Society in Sanford.Predeceasing Mrs. Waddington was her husband Ben Waddington, twin sister Ethelyn Carpenter, brothers Forrest Burbank and Carroll Burbank, and a niece Betty Hayes.Survivors include 6 nieces, Marjorie Morrison and Muriel Lachance of Springvale, Doris Page, Eleanor Hall and Thelma Simpson of Sanford, Linda LaRose of Barnstead, NH, 5 nephews, Hazen Carpenter of Springvale, Wayne Burbank of Kennebunkport, Barry Burbank of No. Andover, MA, Roy Waddington of Dayton, and Carroll Lord of Alfred.At Mrs. Waddington's request, there will be no formal services.
