George J. Voishnis

George J. Voishnis, Sr. passed away peacefully on Saturday March 19th. He was born October 19th, 1927.George was a long time resident at the Greenwood Center in Sanford, Maine. Prior to that he lived in Atkinson, New Hampshire where he was an avid gardener and woodworker. He is predeceased by his wife Alvina Voishnis, his daughter Sharon Voishnis, and a sister Dorothy Crotty.Survivors include a sister; Louise Korta and her husband Edward of Tallahassee FL, three sons; Jeffrey M. Voishnis of Atkinson, NH, George J. Voishnis, Jr. of Forked River, NJ, and Mark A. Voishnis and his wife Karen of Cape Coral, FL , six grandchildren; Jodie-Marie Voishnis, Jameson M. Voishnis and his wife Mallory, Jay J. Voishnis and his wife Selina, Jack Daniel Voishnis and his fiance Drew Mackeil, Katy Houlahan and her husband Ryan, and Sarah Voishnis; 2 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held Monday March 28th from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm at Carll Heald & Black Funeral Home 580 Main Street, Springvale. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday March 29th at 12:00 noon at St. Therese of Lisieux Parish, Holy Family Church, 66 North Avenue, Sanford. Burial with military honors will take place on Wednesday, March 30 at 11:00 AM at Atkinson Cemetery, Atkinson, NH.
