Annette "Ann" Vaccaro, 86, of Rochester, passed away on Saturday, April 5, 2014 in Zephyrhills, FL, after six years of declining health.Ann was born in Sanford on December 2, 1927 to Albert and Blanche (Fontaine) L'Heureux. She lived with her parents until 1969 when she married the love of her life, Thomas (Tom) Vaccaro and they moved to Rochester where they stayed until the present. Ann was an avid bowler and met her husband Tom in a bowling alley in 1962. They bowled together in the couples league until he entered the military in 1964. When he returned in 1967 they began bowling together again and started dating. Ann appeared twice on the Portland TV bowling show.Ann attended St. Ignatius Schools and would often talk of her teenage years. She and her dad would never miss a baseball game at Goodall Park when her brothers were playing. She was proud that two, (Walt and Henry) are in the Maine Baseball Hall of Fame. She also enjoyed watching the Red Sox and the Patriots with her husband and had been employed at W.T. Grant's for over 20 years before she and her husband were married.Ann was a true "people person" who loved everyone. She enjoyed making things from plastic canvas and was happy to make anything for anyone. She loved to tell jokes and sometimes she even got them right. She enjoyed kidding with people and loved it when they would get back at her. She always left a strong, positive impression was remembered by everyone who came into contact with her.Ann and Tom spent their summer weekends for 27 years at Tom's brother's campground in Poland, ME. She could often be seen at Range Pond Campground driving her golf cart. The kids would see her coming and run to her to get a chance for a ride. For the past 10 years Ann and Tom spent their winters in Florida. Her favorite hobby there was playing shuffleboard and riding in her golf cart. Ann will be remembered as a kind and fun loving woman and will be dearly missed by her friends and family.Ann was predeceased by her parents, four brothers, Leo L'Heureux and his wife Yvette, Arthur L'Heureux and his wife Theresa, Walter L'Heureux and his wife Tina and Henry L'Heureux and one sister, Lillian Cyr and her husband Wilfred.Surviving are her husband, Tom Vaccaro of Rochester; two brothers, Robert "Bob" L'Heureux and his wife Theresa of Sanford and Normand L'Heureux and his wife Shirley of Lyman; her sister-in-law, Barbara L'Heureux of Springvale and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.Visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:30 AM on Friday, June 20th at the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home located at 580 Main Street in Springvale. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 12:00 Noon at Notre Dame Church located on Payne Street. Interment will be at Norte Dame Cemetery.
