Maurice (Moe) C. Tuttle Sr., 85, of Springvale, passed away on Thursday, May13, 2010, at the H.D. Goodall Hospital in Sanford. He was born in Portland on May 1, 1925, a son of the late Martin and Eveleen (England) Tuttle. He was the eighth child of 19.For many years he was employed at Eastern Plastics and Jagger Mills. He retired early but then went to work for the Sanford School Department as a custodian, retiring in the 1990's. He served his country by enlisting in the Maine National Guards from 1942 to 1950.On July 1, 1950, he married the former Arlene F. Moulton in Sanford and together raised seven children. He enjoyed hunting and fishing but mostly spending quality time with his family and friends.He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Arlene (Moulton) Tuttle of Springvale, children, Maurice C. Tuttle Jr., of New Hampshire, Jane Gosselin and her husband Gerard of Sanford, Robert Tuttle Sr., and his wife Lora of Sanford, Rose P. Roberts and her husband, Bruce of Springvale, Reggie Tuttle Sr, and his wife, Tammy of Acton, Theresa Tuttle and fiance Rob Phaneuf of Lebanon, Betty Tuttle of Sanford, 15 grandchildren; Gerard Gosselin Jr., Jessie Brown, Heather Hamilton, Robert Tuttle Jr., Amanda Buckley, Jeffrey Roberts, Reginald Tuttle Jr., Kaitlin Tuttle, Michael Tuttle, Samantha Dion-Tuttle, Bradley Dion-Tuttle, Richard Packard, Benjamin Packard, Edward Packard, Andy Packard, 13 great grandchildren, three brothers, Harry and his wife, Marie of Florida, Richard and his wife, Cecile of Sanford, William and his wife, Pearl of Alfred, three sisters, Rose Tuttle and Betty Bernier of Sanford, and Lena Campbell and her husband, Donald of Wells, as well as many nieces and nephews.Visiting hours for Mr. Tuttle will be on Sunday, May 16th from 5 to 8PM at the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Monday at 2PM.
