Gilberte (Betty) Tremblay, 91, of Saco, formerly of Sanford, passed away on Thursday May 25, 2006 at the Maine Veterans Nursing Home in Scarborough. She was born in Sanford on April 1, 1915 a daughter of Albert and Agathe (Leger) Tetreau. She attended St. Ignatius Schools and was also a graduate of Gray's Business College in Portland.She had been a resident of Saco from 1950 until 1994 when she married Rosario J. Tremblay and returned to Sanford. She was a member of the Women's Army Corp. and the American Legion T.W. Cole Post # 19. She served in the WAAC/WAC during WWII.She is predeceased by her first husband, Theodore L. Descoteaux and her second husband, Rosario J. Tremblay. She is survived by one daughter, Janice Ann Descoteaux of Portland, two brothers, Raoul Tetreau of Dover, NH and Fernand S. Tetreau of Fairfield, CT, two sisters, Simonne Huard of Waterford, CT and Mrs. Gerry (Doris) Maurais of Sanford. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.Visiting hours will be on Tuesday May 30 from 6-8pm at the Lafrance-Lambert & Black Funeral Home 29 Winter Street in Sanford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 9am at Holy Family Catholic Church in Sanford. Burial will be at the Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Augusta.Condolences may be expressed by using the "condolence" tab at the left
