Gladys R. Touchette

Gladys R. Touchette, 88, of Sanford, died on Saturday, September 19, 2009 at the Newton Center in Sanford.Gladys was born in Sanford on March 21, 1921 to Mikel and Matilda Tanguay Gorman and attended local schools. She was employed at Tennford Weaving for 44 years until her retirement. She was a communicant of St. Therse of Lisieux Parish, St Ignatius Church. Gladys enjoyed cooking, spending time around the house and spending time with her grandson. She also enjoyed taking walks around town and shopping at her favorite store, Hooz's. She was a very generous woman, always sending people home with goodies and gifts when they would come for visits. She had an excellent sense of humor and enjoyed joking with her family and friends. Gladys will be remembered as a kind and loving mother and grandmother and will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Gladys was predeceased by her first husband, James Wright, her second husband, John Touchette, a daughter-in-law, Antoria Wright and two brothers, Jimmy and Albert Gorman.Gladys is survived by a son, Robert Wright of Kittery Point and his partner, Lola Silva; a grandson, Bobby Wright of Sanford; a sister, Gertrude Tumblin of Sanford; a sister-in-law, Joanne Gorman of Dover, NH and several nieces.Visitation will be from 1:00 to 1:45 PM on Friday, September 25th at the Lafrance-Lambert & Black Funeral Home, 29 Winter Street in Sanford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:00 PM at St. Therse of Lisieux Parish, St Ignatius Church located on St. Ignatius Street in Sanford.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the local charity of one's choice.
