Lucy Floriska Bergeron

Lucy "Floriska" Bergeron, 88, of Springvale, died Monday, November 27, 2006 at Newton Center in Sanford.Mrs. Bergeron was born in Springvale on April 11, 1918 to Eugene and Lydia Dubois Letourneau and attended local schools. She began working as a fancy stitcher in a shoe shop at the age of 16 and continued to work in the shoe industry until retiring from Corey Shoe Company in 1984. She was an active member of the Sanford A.A.R.P. and had served as past treasurer.Lucy had a wonderfully loving spirit. She had the gift of seeing the good in whomever she met and always made people feel welcome and accepted. She was much loved and respected and will be greatly missed.Mrs. Bergeron was predeceased her parents and by her husband, Arthur Bergeron.Surviving are three sons, Ronald Bergeron and his wife Claire of Sanford, Richard Bergeron and his wife Rita of Springvale, and Philip Bergeron and his wife Connie of Old Orchard Beach; three daughters, Claire Unsinn and her husband Daniel of Kennebunk, Irene Daigle and her husband Daniel of Springvale and Anita Manupelli of Springvale; a sister Marie Jeanne Beaupre of Springvale; a brother, Robert Letourneau of Sanford; 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.A period of visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 28, 2006 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home located at 580 Main Street in Springvale. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday at 11:00 AM at Notre Dame church in Springvale.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Beacon Hospice, 529 Main Street, Suite 101, Charlestown, MA 02129.
