Frieda B. Tinker

Frieda B. Tinker, 98, of Springvale, passed away on Sunday, August 24, 2008 at the Newton Center in Sanford. She was born on May 17, 1910 at her parents' home at 6 1/2 Goodwin Street in Springvale. Her parents were Roscoe C. and Mary Estelle (Goodwin) Butler. She graduated from Sanford High School in 1927 and was employed at Huff Florist for 15 years from 1929 to 1943. She then worked as a cashier for the Railway Express Agency for 5 1/2 years and later worked for the Sanford Sewerage District from 1950 to 1974. She was a member of the Pleasant Street Free Baptist Church and was a former Sunday school teacher and a Trustee of the Church. She was a member of the Sanford-Springvale Women's Club, the Daughters of Pocahontas, and a former Town Meeting Member.She was married to Irving F. Tinker who passed away in 1987.A Graveside service for Mrs. Tinker will be held on Thursday, August 28th at 10am at Riverside Cemetery in Springvale.Arrangements are under the direction of the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home, 580 Main Street, Springvale.To leave the family a message of condolence please use the "condolences" tab to the left.
