In the summer of 1960 he met Patricia Plante and they were married on July 4, 1963. While working a full time job and supporting his family, he attended Nasson College in Springvale and earned his Batchelor's Degree in Business. With this education he opened a tax consultant service and remained there until retirement.Joseph was a communicant of St. Therse of Lisieux Parish, Notre Dame Church and in his younger years was very involved there. He was also involved in the Crusillo Movement. His faith was the foundation for his children and their spiritual lives and they are thankful for that.He enjoyed going to auctions and would collect things that he thought could be useful. So much so that he opened a store in the Sanford Mills called Hanks Discount. He seemed to always have just the thing you were looking for. When he wasn't puttering in the garage, he loved spending time with his family and even took care of his small grandchildren to help their parents out.
