M. Elaine Thibodeau

Marian Elaine (Kerr) Thibodeau, 72, of Sanford, died October 25 at the Greenwood Center in Sanford after a lengthy illness.She was born in Milo on August 31, 1938, a daughter of William and Dorothy (Mason) Kerr. She moved to Millinocket where she attended school and graduated from Stearns High School.Elaine was a veteran of the US Army, having served in the WAC.She was employed for many years with Bass Shoe in Scarborough and in Sanford.Elaine enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and knitting. An active and happy resident of Greenwood Center, she enjoyed the Bingo games, the music of Bob Bourassa and other singers who performed at the center, enjoyed just sitting in the hall and chatting with other residents and staff, always saying goodnight when a shift ended. She will be sadly missed by her many friends at Greenwood Center and by her family.She was predeceased by her husband, Lloyd G. Thibodeau, Sr. in 1996, and by a son Michael A. Thibodeau in 1963.Survivors include a son Lloyd G. "Bo" Thibodeau, Jr. and his wife Judi of Sanford, daughter Barbara Gagne and her husband Jeff of Springvale, daughter Janet Boivin of Sanford, son Robert (Bobby) Thibodeau of Limerick, sister Sandra Sullivan and her husband Larry of Hampden, sister Brenda Kerr of Millinocket, grandchildren Angel Cabana, Jennifer Cabana, Kristen Gagne, Brooke Hume, Courtney Thibodeau, Crystal Knight, Todd Hume, a great granddaughter Alyssa Boidi, a great grandson expected in November, Camden Meggison, nephews Steve McDonald, Aaron McDonald, and a niece Sara McDonald.A Celebration of Life Ceremony will be held on Saturday, November 13 from 2 to 7 PM at the Sanford VFW Post, School Street, Sanford. Burial will be in the Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Augusta.
