Marian M. Terrell

Marian M. Terrell, 92, formerly of Kennebunk and Derby, CT, died October 25 at the Newton Center in Sanford after a long illness.She was born in Derby, CT on November 7, 1918, the daughter of George and Genevieve (Downs) MacNish. She attended local schools and was a graduate of Pine Manor College. She also studied piano and voice privately.Mrs. Terrell was employed as an executive assistant with Ryder Systems and then for the American Cancer Society. In Derby, she served as chairman of the Griffin Hospital Auxiliary.While residing in Kennebunk, she was a member of South Congregational Church in Kennebunkport where she also served on the music committee.Her hobbies and interests included attending opera and concerts, reading, doing crossword puzzles, playing bridge, raising orchids, doing needlepoint, travelling, playing tennis and caring for cats, 15 of which she had at one time.Survivors include a stepson, Truman Terrell and his wife Mary of Marion, MA, stepdaughter Mary T. Hansen and her husband Leif of Danbury, CT, 8 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, 8 great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, November 9 at 3:00 PM at the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home, 580 Main Street, Springvale, with the Rev. Diane Wendorf officiating. Burial will be in Oak Cliff Cemetery in Derby, CT.Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the Animal Welfare Society, P. O.
