Richard "Dick" St. Laurent, 65, of Wells, died Friday, December 22, 2006 at Maine Medical Center in Portland.Dick was born in Rollingsford, New Hampshire on January 25, 1941 to Joseph and Marabelle Guillemette St. Laurent. He grew up in Sanford where he attended local schools. He married his wife, Betty, in 1961 and together they raised 5 children. Dick worked as a plumber and was proprietor of Richard St. Laurent Plumbing & Heating. He was a very hard working person and always found ways of keeping himself busy. He built his own house several years ago, doing the majority of the work by himself. Dick was an avid outdoorsman and loved to hunt and fish. He was an active member of Holy Family Church and was a member of the church prayer group and the men's prayer group. He was also a member of the Sanford Elks Lodge. Dick was a loving and supportive husband, father and grandfather. His family and friends were very important to him and he always made it a point to let them know that. He got a lot of enjoyment out of spending time with his loved ones and particularly enjoyed entertaining and playing with his grandchildren and great-granddaughter. He will be remembered as a very kind and loving man and will be dearly missed by his family and friends.Dick was predeceased by his parents and a brother, Paul St. Laurent.He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Betty St. Laurent of Wells; 5 children, Brenda Burnell and her husband Timothy of Farmington, Denise Lavigne and her husband Stephen of Wells, Alan St. Laurent of Sanford, Christine Sharpe and her husband Scott of Wells and Sherri Moulton and her husband Jeffrey of Wells; two brothers, Roger and Ronnie St. Laurent; two sisters, Judy St. Laurent and Jeannine Seavey; 9 grandchildren, 1 great-granddaughter and many nieces and nephews.A period of visitation will be held from 2:00 to 4:00 & 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, December 27, 2006 at Lafrance-Lambert & Black Funeral Home, located at 29 Winter Street in Sanford. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place the following day at 10:30 AM at Holy Family Church, located on North Avenue in Sanford. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be sent to the Autism Society of Maine, 72B Main Street, Winthrop, Maine, 04364.
