Sandra K. Sonntag

Sandra K. Sonntag, 46, of Sanford, ME died unexpectedly Friday August 16th in Putnam, CT.Mrs. Sonntag was born on February 22, 1956 in Louisville, KY. She was the daughter of Charles and Shirley Mason Roederer. It was in Kentucky that she attended grammar and high school. Following her high school graduation Sandra worked in law before entering into the United States Air Force. It was during that time that she met her husband whom she married on August 30, 1977. After being discharged from the service Mrs. Sonntag attended, and graduated from the University of Louisville in Kentucky.Her charming smile was only matched by her care and concern for everyone she came in contact with. Friends and family would describe her as a renaissance woman who enjoyed everything she had an opportunity to take part in. She was a designer, sewer, painter, teacher, baker, gardener, dog trainer, a lover of life and the wonderful things it had to offer, but above all a loving daughter, mother, and wife.Words alone cannot describe the life and love of Sandra K. Sonntag.Surviving are her parents Charles and Shirley Roederer of Sarasota, Fl, her husband of 24 years Andrew M. Sonntag of Sanford and their daughter Jennifer M. Sonntag of Atlanta, Ga. Also surviving are two sisters, Susan and Karen Roederer both of Tampa, Fl, a brother Chris Roederer of Ca, a brother Steven Roederer of Tampa, Fl and several nieces and nephews.Friends are invited to attend a period of visitation on Tuesday August 20th from 5 to 8 PM at the Heald Funeral Home, 580 Main St. Springvale, ME; where a funeral service will be held on Wednesday the 21st at 10:00 AM.In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Golden Retriever Rescue at Box 808, Hudson, MA 01749, or Therapy Dog International at 88 Bartley Square, Flanders, NJ 07836.
